FOCUS
Training again under Master Hoshino centered on the traverse from Mt. Gassan to Mt. Yudono in a small group of returning participants

WHAT YOU EXPERIENCE

  • Traverse from Mt. Gassan to Mt. Yudono. Cross the ridgeline of Mt. Gassan and descend to Mt. Yudono, a route that is not part of the Masters Yamabushi Training.

  • Train directly under 13th‑generation Yamabushi Master Hoshino in strict silence and in full yamabushi robes.

  • A focused circle of returning participants. Everyone already knows what Yamabushi training is, so the time goes to practice rather than explanation. This is what lets three days go deep.

WHO THIS TRAINING IS FOR

  • Past participants of Yamabushido trainings.

  • Those who feel that what they found on the mountain is fading in the noise of daily life.

  • Those at a turning point, ready to set things down and begin the next chapter.

  • Those who simply feel they need to go back to the mountains, even if they can’t clearly explain why.

WHAT YOU GAIN

  • Time to set down what you have been carrying, and return to daily life with a clean slate

  • A chance to revisit what you received in your first training, in the light of where your life is now

  • The confidence of a body that has completed the traverse, and bonds with others who know the same mountains

PURIFY AND RENEW
WITH MASTER HOSHINO

In Yamabushi training, all prayers begin with purification. We collect impurities simply by living our daily lives. Since your time in the mountains, life has done what life does. Master Hoshino doesn’t see this as failure. It is simply how people are, and the reason the mountains are there.

"In Japan, there is a cycle of purification. Purification is always the act of removing your impurities and making yourself new. Purified, you always go forward as a new self.” - Master Hoshino

Yamabushi Traverse is four days to set things down on the mountain, and step back into life as a newer self.

  • “You don’t need to ask a question for the mountains to give you an answer. The answer is to keep going.”
